When can I go back Mommy??

Youngest has been sick for about a week with a cold and a cough. Nothing earth shattering until Wednesday morning came and he told me his stomach hurt. When he pointed to his stomach it was actually his chest. Figured I better get it checked out. I'm a smart Mom like that. We went into the peds where I was told he had pneumonia. As a Mom of a former trached child who lived on a ventilator for almost 2 yrs, I have to tell you, I wasn't in a panic over the word pneumonia. We went home and he napped. 2 hrs later he woke up wheezing and not breathing well. I hemmed and hawed over taking him to the ER. I told him we may have to go to the hospital and he said no. An hour later he said "Mommy. I want to go to the hospital". Clearly, another big indicator my child was sick. Fortunately my Mom was around to come over and wait for oldest to get home from school while youngest  and I ventured over to the  ER. (A beautiful new setup I must add and never was I seen so quickly by a doctor. Although I guess it helped having a child with breathing difficulty) A few hrs later we were told he needed to be admitted. His oxygen rate was low and he was still breathing hard. youngest ,no worse off emotionally. He was getting showered with attention by child life specialists, nurses and doctors. He had more stickers than he could count and had chicken nuggets and french fries for dinner. On the floor he had a private room, got to push buttons to make his bed rise and fall and watched hours and hours of TV. He painted, played in a playroom and rode around in a "TAXI". He ate ice cream, 4 Popsicles and made lots of friends. I, on the other hand, ate more fried food than I cared to and got only one hour of sleep on a pull out chair. His only complaint of the 24 hrs was that he didn't like his IV and wanted the monitor sticker off his toe. He was an all star patient.
With that said...
his favorite new friend wheeled him out while I got the car and he cried, wanting to stay. "More hospital. Mommy, when can I come back?"
Oh honey, hopefully not for a while...
